Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our programs, pricing, educator support, and what you actually get for the investment.
Is an Online Program Really Worth It?
The honest answer to the question a lot of families are quietly asking.
What makes Nurtured Nest different from just Googling it or watching free videos?
You can probably find an article or video about nearly every topic we cover. The harder part is knowing what to search for, deciding which sources are accurate, understanding what applies to your specific situation, and connecting all of it into something useful in the moment. The internet has plenty of information — that's part of the problem.
Nurtured Nest gives you an organized library of unique, expert-created, expert-reviewed lessons taught by multiple professionals — OB/GYNs, midwives, pediatricians, lactation consultants, sleep specialists, and more — plus we offer access to our team through the platform. You can ask when a new question comes up. You’re not just buying access to videos. You’re gaining a trusted learning library filled with original expert-led lessons, practical tools, and ongoing educational support—so you can prepare now and return whenever real-life questions arise.
"I felt like I knew what the doctors were talking about every step of the way — it made a huge difference in my childbirth and postpartum experience."
Shelby H. · Google Review
"As a nurse, having instructors explain both medical terms and real-life meaning helped me and my non-medical husband. Exactly what we were looking for — on our schedule."
Nicki O. · Google Review
Why are you a nonprofit if your programs aren't free?
Expert-led education still costs money to create, film, update, host, and maintain. As a program of The Nurture to Bloom Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, revenue goes back into supporting families, improving education, and expanding access — not to shareholders or advertising.
Will this guarantee the birth (or outcome) I want?
No — and anyone promising that deserves a raised eyebrow. Birth, sleep, and feeding are all wonderfully unpredictable. Our goal is to help you understand your options, communicate clearly with your care team, and feel more prepared when plans change.
Will my partner actually watch this?
We cannot guarantee sustained eye contact, but the lessons are practical, bite-sized, and designed for both of you — so you can learn together, or catch up separately on your own schedule.
Programs & Access
How long do I have access to my program?
Most individual programs include 12 months of access. The Complete Pregnancy & Baby Bundle includes 24 months, since it's built to support you from pregnancy through your baby's first year.
Either way, you can revisit lessons, downloads, and resources whenever a new question comes up — not just once, before your due date.
Can my partner, grandparents, or other caregivers use it too?
Yes. Partner access is included with every program, and many families also use the content with grandparents, babysitters, and other caregivers — helpful for getting everyone on the same page with current safety practices, feeding, sleep, and postpartum support. If you'd like someone to have their own login, email us at help@nurturednest.org
Can I gift a program to someone else?
Yes. Purchase a program using your email, then contact us at help@nurturednest.org and we'll help you get your gift recipient enrolled.
When is the best time during pregnancy to start?
We recommend starting by around 25 weeks so you have time to move through the lessons at a relaxed pace. Every pregnancy is different, though — some parents join later and still work through the essential lessons in a day or two.
What matters most is giving yourself enough time to absorb the information without feeling rushed as your due date gets closer.
Ask a Question Anytime
Online learning does not mean you're figuring it out alone.
Can I ask questions if something comes up?
Yes. You can submit unlimited questions through the learning platform or by email throughout your access period. We route your question to the educator or expert whose background best matches the topic, and respond Monday - Friday within 24 hours .
That includes help understanding medical terminology, thinking through a specific situation, and preparing questions to bring to your next appointment.
This is educational support, not live or emergency care. For urgent health concerns, contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency care.
Is this a replacement for medical care?
No. Nurtured Nest provides education, not medical diagnosis or treatment. We can help explain information, walk through common scenarios, and help you formulate questions for a healthcare provider — but your OB, midwife, or pediatrician remains your medical decision-maker.
Pricing, Insurance & Guarantee
How much does a program cost?
Pricing varies by program, and bundles cost less than purchasing the included programs separately. To help make things accessible:
- Shop Pay installment plans are available at checkout
- Lower pricing is available for patients of UNC Rex Women's Center.
- Financial assistance is available for families who need it (see below)
- Eligible purchases may be reimbursable through an HSA or FSA
Comprehensive education at a price designed to be accessible to more families — cost shouldn't be the reason a family goes without it.
Do you offer financial assistance?
Yes. We offer reduced-cost options for families who need financial assistance. Because creating and maintaining expert-led programs takes real time and resources, we ask each family to invest what they're able.
If you're in need, email help@nurturednest.org with the program you're interested in, your due date (if applicable), the best email to register you with, and the amount you're able to invest right now. Our team will review your message and do our best to help.
Is this HSA or FSA eligible?
Eligible purchases may be reimbursable through an HSA or FSA, and you'll receive a detailed receipt to submit to your plan administrator. Plan rules vary, so we recommend checking with your administrator if you have questions about reimbursement.
Does insurance cover Nurtured Nest programs?
Sometimes. Coverage depends on your specific insurance plan, and many insurers bundle childbirth and postpartum education into maternity care in ways that can make separate reimbursement complicated. Nurtured Nest doesn't bill insurance directly, but we can provide documentation — including an itemized receipt and completion certificate — to support your own reimbursement request.
For a full walkthrough of how to check your coverage, request a Letter of Medical Necessity, and submit a claim, read our guide: Does Insurance Cover Childbirth Classes?
What is your refund policy?
We offer a 15-day money-back guarantee, as long as less than 10% of the program has been completed. Contact us at help@nurturednest.org to request a refund. This gives you room to try a program and make sure it's the right fit for your family.
